Hot Gypsy Swing in the style of Django Reinhardt & Stefan Grapelli

Metro Swing, formed in 1998 out of a shared passion for the music of Django, this group provides added spice to the mainstream reportoire by incorporating some traditional French and Russian themes. Add a smattering of vocals, blend gently and you have the perfect receipe for a fantastic evenings entertainment.

Andy and Neil first met over 10 years ago, they instantly became great friends and have formed the powerhouse rhythm section for numerous bands since then.

Neil has had a vast professional experience in an array of styles, jazz, blues, country, rock pop and function bands. A phenominal guitar player, but above all a great musician Neil brings all his years of experience to create his own unique style.

Multi instrumentalist Andy was classically trained as a trombonist before taking up the guitar and double bass. When not on duty with Metro Swing he can often be seen providing a driving bass to some of the top Gypsy Swing bands in the country. Always seeking out the next jam he has recently played with Stochelo Rosenburg, Tchavolo Schmitt, Fapy Lafertin, Robin Nolan and Angelo DeBarre.

Metro Swing recently supported world famous guitarist John Jorgenson (Elton John, The Hellecasters, The Desert Rose Band) on part of his UK tour.
